Charlestown Condo

An escape from city life nestled in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston Harbor is this incredible home. Designer David Gershaw worked with architect Doreve Nicholaeff of Nicholaeff Architecture + Design to create a space that maximized the beautiful views of the ocean and city skyline from every room, while simplifying the layout for a more organized and natural flow. The interior design style Gershaw was inspired by can best be described as an industrial take on “Japandi”, which blends the smooth, modern lines of Scandanavian design with the sleek, functional, elegance of Japanese aesthetic. “The light coloring and black character markings of the Sausalito Select floors helped bring the Japandi aesthetic to life”, Gershaw says.

“To me, selecting wood floors is one of the most important material selections for the entire home”, says Gershaw. “They set the vibe for the entire living experience. I knew for this home that I wanted to use Sawyer Mason because I used it on my Cape Home a few years ago, and I have been super impressed with the quality. As a builder, I see many different wood floor offerings and I do not believe any other manufacturer rivals what Sawyer Mason has to offer as far as so many different finishes, colors, widths, and the durable way that its put together”.

Sawyer Mason’s Sausalito Select is the perfect addition to any home or commercial property. The structured build of the planks allow the wood to expand and contract with the humidity and changes of the season.
