A consistent bestseller, Madaket is reminiscent of darkened driftwood with its perfect melding of gray and warm tones. This matte finish wide plank floor is truly special with its artisan-crafted scraping and planing done by hand.

Craftsmen create the antique texturing giving each plank it’s unique beauty. Tonal depth is achieved by hand-applying and buffing in multiple coats of reactive stain to achieve it’s rich color.

About Madaket

Madaket is a French oak floor in the tones of darkened driftwood, where grey and warm brown meet on every plank. Hand scraping and an antiqued surface give it depth, and its knots add character. Weathered yet warm, Madaket suits coastal houses and relaxed family rooms, and it gives a new space the feel of a floor that has been there for years.

Structured. Sustainable.

13/16″ thick with a 6mm European French Oak wear layer. Para Wood core blocks laid perpendicular to the oak's grain: the crossed grains restrain each other, so the plank moves less.

Hand Applied Finishing

Smoked and finished with reactive stains, then sealed with a hard UV-cured oil.

Can I see a sample of Madaket?

Yes. Use “Add sample” at the top of this page and Madaket goes into your Sample Box. Plank samples are free 10–11″ long hand samples, shipping included, up to 4 per order. The Designer Box holds every color in 4×4 chips, in one box to keep.

Where can I see Madaket installed?

How is Madaket installed?

Madaket can be fully glued down, or glued and nailed. Planks over 6″ wide can’t be nailed without glue. Floating is less common, mostly in basements – ask us first.

Can Madaket go over radiant heat?

Our floors are suitable over radiant heat. Every system is different, so tell us about yours and we’ll confirm before you order.

Can Madaket be refinished?

Yes. Its 6mm wear layer can be refinished.
