A favorite among our oiled hardwood floors, the stunning dark wood is punctuated with broad wire brushing. Just like our standard Esplanade, the specialized hand-applied coloring creates a deep, rich espresso inter-played with soft white to enhance the grain of the planks.

About Esplanade 9/16

Esplanade 9/16 has the same deep espresso brown with intermittent grey as our Esplanade, with soft white tracing the brushed grain of this smoked French oak. It gives a room depth and a rich, dark base. Lively rather than flat, it suits city apartments, coastal houses and modern homes that call for a dark floor.

Structured. Sustainable.

9/16″ thick with a 3.2mm European French Oak wear layer. Para Wood core blocks laid perpendicular to the oak's grain: the crossed grains restrain each other, so the plank moves less.

Hand Applied Finishing

Smoked and finished with reactive stains, then sealed with a matte Bona Naturale finish.

Is Esplanade 9/16 made in another size?

Yes. Esplanade in the Back Bay Collection: 7.5″ wide, in 7′ lengths, 13/16″ thick with a 6mm wear layer.

Can I see a sample of Esplanade 9/16?

Yes. Use “Add sample” at the top of this page and Esplanade 9/16 goes into your Sample Box. Plank samples are free 10–11″ long hand samples, shipping included, up to 4 per order. The Designer Box holds every color in 4×4 chips, in one box to keep.

How is Esplanade 9/16 installed?

Esplanade 9/16 can be nailed down, fully glued down, or glued and nailed. Floating is less common, mostly in basements – ask us first.

Can Esplanade 9/16 go over radiant heat?

Our floors are suitable over radiant heat. Every system is different, so tell us about yours and we’ll confirm before you order.
